I'm very pleased to see the NSA has launched their Apprenticeship Training Service.  This will enable small organisations to look at employing apprentices for short periods.  Until now employers were expected to commit to employing apprentices continuously for 2 years.  Please click here for their article.

The National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural Skills have arranged several opportunities for students to spend a day at an arts venue, talking to staff about work and career in our industry.  This year, with the help of Founder Colleges, they've arranged 25 events around the country between 1st October and 8th December.

 

The employers involved have contributed some of their enthusiastic staff's time, and space at their venue to ensure these events are valuable to the students and staff alike.  I recently talked to several students and venue staff involved in one of these events.  They were all very positive and enlightened by their experience.
