I'm very pleased to see the NSA has launched their Apprenticeship Training Service.  This will enable small organisations to look at employing apprentices for short periods.  Until now employers were expected to commit to employing apprentices continuously for 2 years.  Please click here for their article.

Chris Cuthbert

Chris first became involved with MOSC in it's original form of the Midlands Training Consortium, being a founder member, out of a realisation that there are needs for all technical managers in the West Midlands that could be addressed through sharing information in a regular forum.

Chris has been involved in Offstage Skills for over 10 years. Starting at Birmingham Rep in the sound department, moving to mac as a theatre technician and then on to run a production department with an outside broadcast company he now owns and runs Acquis Media Ltd.

Set-up 4 years ago to serve Arts companies inThe Midlands, he provides technical support for vemues and tours along with creative services in design and production. With such a diverse offering the company relies on both full time staff and a large freelance bank, stretching from theatre technicians to camera operators.

In addition he also chairs a youth theatre company called Stage2 where he provides technical training and mentoring along with production design for their termly shows.

He is now an integral part of MOSC, seeking funding and support to develop the aspirations of the group, whilst actively recruiting new member organisations and apprentices for The Creative Apprenticship scheme.
